At African Dawn Expeditions, great food is part of the experience. Our cuisine is hearty, wholesome, and proudly African—prepared with care and enjoyed in the bush or back at camp.
Guests are treated to three meals a day. Breakfast may be a light start with rusks, coffee or tea, yoghurt and toast, or on other days a generous cooked breakfast to fuel the morning’s hunt. Lunch is flexible and practical, served in the field while hunting—sometimes a packed lunch, other times freshly cooked over the fire, including a traditional barbecue or braai. Dinner is a highlight of the day: a relaxed, satisfying meal back at camp, often enjoyed around the fire, featuring quality meats, classic sides, and comforting flavours.

Evenings around the campfire are a highlight. With a glass of South African wine or drink of your choice, stories are shared as flames crackle and the night settles in. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming — boots off, chairs pulled close, and no rush to be anywhere else.
